Beam

Beam

The assigment was to rework a previous piece and reimagine it in a different format. I took an image that i had created and used it as cover art for a double album.

This monochromatic piece is a mesmerizing exploration of light and shadow. Dominated by shades of black, white, and grey, the artwork captivates the viewer with its striking simplicity and dynamic composition.
At the heart of the piece lies a bold diagonal beam that slices across the canvas, dividing the space with geometric precision. This beam serves as the focal point, drawing the eye inward with its commanding presence and creating a sense of movement and depth within the composition.

In the center of the composition, a circular element emerges. This circular motif serves as a visual anchor, radiating a sense of symmetry and balance amidst the angularity of the surrounding forms. Within its confines, layers of texture and detail unfold, inviting closer inspection and contemplation.

As a double album cover, this artwork takes on a new dimension, its minimalist aesthetic providing the perfect backdrop for the music it represents. The diagonal beam and circular element become symbols of harmony and contrast, reflecting the duality of sound and silence, rhythm and melody.

With its timeless appeal and thought-provoking design, this reimagined artwork invites listeners to embark on a journey of sonic exploration, where the interplay of light and shadow echoes the ebb and flow of musical expression.
